Visa related information.

Consular section of the Embassy of Republic of Tajikistan issue the following types of visa to foreign citizens as follows:

1. Diplomatic visa (Д)
2. Service visa (Х)
3. Investor visa (С)
4. Business visa (К)

6. Tourism visa, including groups (Т)
7. Student visas (О-1,О-2)
8. Private visa (ХC)

Validity of visa depends on the purpose of entry and processed within the following terms:

a.Diplomatic visa is issued for the period of diplomatic activity performance in Tajikistan and for members of official delegations it is given to declared period which does not exceed 2 years;

b. Service visa is given for the period of 1 year less with further extension under condition of justified stay in the Republic of Tajikistan;

c. Investor visa is issued for the period of 2 years;

d. Business visa is issued for the period of 1 year;

e. Work visa is issued for the period of 3 months;

f. Tourism visa is issued for the period of 45 days;

g. Student visas (О-1) is issued for the period of study and student visas (О-2) for the period of 9 months

h. Private visa is issued for the 3 months

i Economic free zone visa is issued for the period of 3 months

j. Visa for drivers is issued for the period of 1 year

k. Visa for Permanent residence is issued for the period of 6 months

l. Crew visa is issued for the period of 3 months

m. Visa information media representativa is issued for the period of 3 months

n. Spouse visa is issued for the period of is issued for the period of 3 months

o. Sport visa&visa for cultural groups is issued for the period of sport&cultural events

p. Visa Religious worker is issued for the period of 4 months

q. Humanitarian visa is issued for the period of delivery of humanitarian assistances

r.Commercial visa is issued for the period of 3 months

Transit visa is issued for the period about three days. Transit visa is not required if foreign citizen makes direct flight by air transport over the territory of the Republic of Tajikistan.

The following documents are submitted to Consular Department of MFA RT for processing and issuing of visa:

• Two copies of visa application and stick photo (application form )
• Verbal note (for issuance of diplomatic and service visa)
• Cover letter of request from your organization or travel agency. Embassy reserves the right to request for additional documents
• High quality photocopy of passport and correct image
• Passport
• Receipt on payment
• Copy of previous visa
• For issuing visa for more than 3 months (except category a,b,c,q) certificate about HIV/AIDS from medical centers
• For Group Visa: filled Group Visa form (download )

In case of applying by mail, applicants should enclose a completely-addressed stamped return envelope or prepaid waybill, bearing the account number and showing themselves as both shipper and recipient regardless of delivery address. Embassy does not pay for the mail.

Please, note that Embassy of the Republic of Tajikistan does not accept cash.

Requirements to submitted documents:
Visa application should be filled in readable handwriting (block letters) or typed on typewriter and signed by applicant, answers should be complete and correct. Passport of foreign citizen should be undoubtedly authentic and belong to the bearer, has no records, stipulations, notes, erasures and corrections unsealed by authorized bodies of relevant foreign state and has no pages torn out of passport, have at least 2 clear pages for visa and passport should not expire rather than 6 months before expiration of visa. Photos should be 3,5 х 4,5 cm (colour), printed from one negative, without hat and dark spectacles.

In addition, if the applicant wants to visit the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region of Tajikistan (GBAO) it is necessary to receive permission in the Embassy. GBAO permit is valid for visiting Darvoz, Vanj, Rushon, Iskoshim, Murghob and Khorugh.

Processing and visa fees

ANNOUNCEMENT: On June 1, 2009 new processing and visas fees will start coming into force

a). For issuance of Tajik entry/exit and exit/entry visas for foreign citizens and absent nationality persons:

* Note: The rate of consular fee for processing of additional one transit visa is increased to ￥1000

* The group should comprise of at least 5 persons

Processing and visa fees are listed in the Japanese Yen equivalent of what they cost in US Dollar, based on a $1=¥100 exchange rate. In case the US Dollar rate to yen drops essentially, Embassy will adjust consular fees.

Foreigner, entered the Republic of Tajikistan by tourist visa (no more then 30 days), is freed from registration in the internal affair’s bodies of the Republic of Tajikistan as a foreigner
