The meeting discussed the current state and prospects of bilateral and multilateral relations between Tajikistan and Turkey.
It was expressed particular interest in the development and deepening of bilateral relations and stressed that over the 25 years of diplomatic relations between Tajikistan and Turkey interstate cooperation in the spheres of politics, economy and other fields is steadily developing through the joint efforts, and it was brought to a qualitatively new level.
The parties expressed their effective proposals to expand trade and economic turnover, finding new ways to improve the performance of the external inter-state trade.
Among the priority and perspective directions of bilateral cooperation were identified strengthening of the work of the joint intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation, regional cooperation in the fields of energy, communication, attraction of Turkish business circles to the implementation of projects on construction of joint ventures, the establishment of mutually beneficial cooperation in the spheres of industry, agriculture, economy, international transport and tourism.
The Heads of State agreed to hold the first Council of Cooperation between Tajikistan and Turkey, days of culture of the two countries in each other's countries, exchange of students and teachers, especially to increase the number of quotas for the training of citizens of Tajikistan in universities of Turkey, establishment of permanent links between culture and art figures.The parties stressed their common position on the strengthening of bilateral and regional cooperation in the fight against international terrorism and extremism, the ensuring of peace and stability in Afghanistan.
President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan invited the Founder of Peace and National Unity — Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon to visit Turkey for an official visit upon his convenience.
