On July 14, 2017 Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Tajikistan in Japan Dr. Hamrokhon Zarifi held meeting with the Governor of Tokyo, Ms. Yuriko Koike.
At the beginning of the conversation the Ambassador of Tajikistan has emphasized that in the current year both countries celebrate 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Tajikistan and Japan in this connection the meeting with the Governor of Tokyo is of particular importance.
During the conversation, which took place in an atmosphere of friendship and mutual understanding, the interlocutors focused their attention on the activation and strengthening of bilateral cooperation in various directions. In particular, a proposal was made to establish sister-city relations between the two countries.
In light of the forthcoming Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games the sides exchanged views on issues related to sport and joint contribution to the development of cooperation in this field. An agreement was reached on holding joint events in the field of sports.
At the end of the conversation, the Ambassador of Tajikistan invited Ms. Yuriko Koike to pay a visit to Tajikistan.
