On August 29, 2017, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Tajikistan to Japan Dr. Hamrokhon Zarifi visited Soka University, which is one of the largest universities in Japan.
During the meeting with the President of Soka University, Mr. Yoshihisa Baba, issues of establishing closer and more productive bilateral cooperation were discussed. In particular, the parties exchanged views on the establishment of new contacts, the possibility of implementing international academic exchange programs with higher educational institutions in Tajikistan and the allocation of scholarships for students of the country.
Interesting proposals were made to strengthen ties in new directions, conducting joint scientific-educational and cultural activities. The implementation of such initiatives intended to expand ties and unite representatives of the youth of the two countries, thereby strengthening cooperation between Tajikistan and Japan. This is particularly pertinent in the context of declaring 2017 as the Year of Youth by the Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Mr. Emomali Rahmon.
During his visit, the Ambassador of Tajikistan also visited the scientific library and the Soka University history museum, visited the university campus, talked with the faculty members and representatives of the administration of the University.
