On September 5, 2017, in Embassy of the Republic of Tajikistan in Tokyo the meeting of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Dr. Hamrokhon Zarifi held with fellow students among the civil servants of the Republic of Tajikistan, who arrived in Japan to begin their studies at the International University of Japan and the Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University. Ms. Moe Shimana, the program coordinator from the Japan Center for International Cooperation (JICE), also attended the meeting.
During the meeting, the Ambassador of Tajikistan congratulated the fellows with successful completion of the selection process and wished success and diligence in study, since the knowledge gained during the course of studies after returning home should make a feasible contribution to the development of the country.
The Ambassador of Tajikistan also thanked the Japanese side for the assistance in the development of human resources.
Scholarships for young civil servants from Tajikistan for studying in Japanese universities are allocated under the Human Resources Development Scholarship Program (JDS). Up to the present, 46 fellows have been sent to Japan, of which 33 have successfully completed their master's degree and returned to Tajikistan, where in practice implementing their gained knowledge.
