Working visit of the Ambassador of Tajikistan to Oita Prefecture
On October 30-31, 2017, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Tajikistan to Japan Dr. Hamrokhon ZARIFI, with other foreign ambassadors accredited in Japan, paid a working visit to the Oita Prefecture. The visit was organized by the initiative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan with the support of the Government of the Oita Prefecture.
During the visit, the Ambassador got acquainted with the main achievements of the prefecture in the field of innovations and advanced technologies, in particular in the spheres of industry, medicine and agriculture. The Ambassador visited a thermal power plant with a capacity of 110 megawatts, which is constructed on the basis of modern technologies.
Due to the production of advanced equipment, prefectural administration pays close attention to the rehabilitation of the persons with disabilities. Also, prefecture is actively developing horticulture, the priority of which is the production of high-quality products — modern technology used in the cultivation, and further processing of fruits and vegetables.
Head of the diplomatic mission of Tajikistan also visited the Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University, where he met with the faculty and students of the university and on behalf of the delegation of ambassadors delivered a short speech.
During the visit to the Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University, the Ambassador of Tajikistan held meetings with the President of the University Mr. Korenaga Shun and Vice President Mr. Yokoyama Kenji, as well as with students from Tajikistan who study in master and doctoral programs in this university.
At the meeting with the Tajik students, the Ambassador noted that along with the academic program, it is also necessary to show interest in studying the achievements of Japanese advanced technologies and, in particular, learn Japanese language.
