On April 7, 2018 in Tsukuba Gakuin University a concert dedicated to the International Day of «Navruz», with the participation of famous Tajik and Japanese musicians and singers was held. The event was organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Tajikistan in Japan.
Representatives of arts intelligentsia, professors and students of the University of Tokyo and Tsukuba, representatives of business communities and the Friendship Society «Tajikistan-Japan», media media representatives, as well as our fellow citizens were invited to the concert.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Tajikistan to Japan Dr. Hamrokhon ZARIFI congratulated all on the occasion of this magnificent holiday of Navruz, and stressed that thanks to state independence this holiday in Tajikistan has revived with its magnificence and splendour, and began to be celebrated as the one of the most ancient national holidays. The values and historical significances of Navruz — a holiday of prosperity, humanity and spirit of creation were also noted.
Young and talented stars of the Tajik dutar master Sirojiddin Juraev, singers Madina Aknazarova and Firdavs Hoshimov, as well as the Japanese dutar player Mashu Komazaki and the dancing ensemble «Guliston» pleased the guests of the event with their performances.
During the event an exhibition dedicated to Navruz, at which traditional attributes and symbols of the holiday, objects of arts and crafts of the Tajik people were presented, and a wide dastarkhan (festive cotner) was organized for all guests of the event.
It should also be noted that on April 6, as part of the celebration of the Tajikistan Culture Days, a concert of Tajik and Japanese artists was held in the Min-On Concert Association with the participation of a wide range of guests including officials of the Government of Japan and heads of diplomatic missions accredited in Japan, arts intelligentsia, and friends of Tajikistan.
The Culture Days of Tajikistan in Japan, as well as the celebration of the International Day «Navruz» were highly appreciated and got a lot of positive reviews from the Japanese guests and participants of all events. Many guests expressed a desire to visit our country and get acquainted with the rich traditions and ancient culture of the Tajik people.
