On September 3, 2018 in the Embassy of the Republic of Tajikistan in Tokyo, the meeting of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Dr. Hamrokhon ZARIFI held with fellows from among civil servants of the Republic of Tajikistan, who arrived in Japan to start their studies. A representative of the Japan Center for International Cooperation (JICE) also attended the meeting.
Seven civil servants from the Executive Authorities of the Badakhshan Mountainous Autonomous Region and Sugd Region, the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade, Ministry of Energy and Water Resources, the Agency on Melioration and Irrigation, Customs Service and National Bank of Tajikistan will study in University of at Hiroshima, International University of Japan and Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University for the period of two years to obtain master's degree.
During the meeting, the Ambassador of Tajikistan congratulated the fellows with successful completion of the selection process to study in the leading universities of Japan and wished success and diligence in study, since the knowledge gained during the course of studies after returning home should make a feasible contribution to the development of the country.
Gratitude was expressed to the Japanese side for the assistance in the development of human resources.
Scholarships for young civil servants from Tajikistan for studying in Japanese universities are allocated under the Human Resources Development Scholarship Program (JDS). Up to the present, 10 group 52 fellows among civil servants through master's degree program and 2 in doctoral course have been sent to Japan, of which 37 have successfully completed their master's degree and returned to Tajikistan. They serve in leading positions in the ministries and agencies of the country and in practice realize the acquired knowledge.
