President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon today received the US Secretary of State John Kerry.
The questions related to the friendly relations and multilateral cooperation of Tajikistan and the United States were discussed at the meeting.

Today I am very glad to have met you. I am also satisfied with the fact that today we come to certain conclusions about the results of the meetings in the countries of Central Asia.

The Government of the United States is encouraging that the Republic of Tajikistan is an independent country and is committed to solving its economic problems.
We will further continue cooperation with the Republic of Tajikistan. I think the cooperation with the Republic of Tajikistan is not unreasonable, since Tajikistan for us is very important, than the other Central Asian countries, because it is the closest neighbor of Afghanistan, and there is the problem of combating terrorism, extremism and drug trafficking.

It was stated that the current relationship of Tajikistan and the United States in the fields of politics, economy and trade, humanitarian sectors — education, culture, wellbeing, security, combating international terrorism, etc. are effectively developing, taking into account the interests of both sides.
It was stressed that Tajikistan and America will try to strengthen and develop cooperation in the Central Asian region.
