​Ambassador of Tajikistan visited Tokyo Stock Exchange

On October 25, 2016 Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Tajikistan in Japan Dr. Hamrokhon Zarifi visited the central office of Tokyo Stock Exchange, where he acquainted himself with the work of the Tokyo Stock Exchange.

The head of the branch offices of the Tokyo Stock Exchange briefed Ambassador of Tajikistan about the history of its creation, the activities in the securities market, the stock market regulatory regime and its role in the economic growth of the country, as well as cooperation within the framework of the international stock market.

It should be noted that the Tokyo Stock Exchange is the largest stock exchange of Japan established in May 1878 and the first auction took place in it in June of same year. Today it is one of the main financial institution among the world's largest stock exchanges, and has 1,989 listed companies with total market capitalization of more than US$4 trillion. The major indices on the Tokyo Stock Exchange are NIKKEI 225 and the TOPIX.
